The BSS Soundweb 9088ii is the core of the Soundweb audio system—a powerful, standalone DSP processor designed to meet the needs of professional audio installations. Housed in a compact 1U rackmount chassis, it features 8 inputs, 8 outputs, a robust DSP engine, and networking capabilities for seamless integration with other Soundweb units.
Ideal for fixed AV setups, the 9088ii includes analogue GPI control, RS232 ports for external control (e.g., via PC, AMX, or Crestron systems), and all the functionality required to get started—no additional system hardware needed. Simply connect your audio sources, amplifiers, and speakers to begin building a fully operational sound system.
The unit supports optional input/output card configurations, including mic/line inputs or AES/EBU digital I/O cards. Each digital card handles two stereo inputs and supports sample rates from 32kHz to 96kHz, with output capabilities at 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96kHz. Analogue outputs continue to function as mirrored versions when digital inputs are used.
The 9088ii can store up to 12 unique system configurations internally. All programming is done via the intuitive Soundweb Designer software, available free from the BSS Audio website (www.bss.co.uk).
For mission-critical applications, the unit includes an opto-isolated watchdog output. This feature allows integration with alarm systems or failover setups—providing peace of mind through continuous monitoring. The output remains active during normal operation and shuts off automatically in the event of power or system failure.
