Built to endure the rigours of a busy live stage, the 2015 features a durable brass body known for its corrosion resistance and resistance to metal fatigue. Its handle and grille are coated with a protective black chrome finish, ensuring the microphone ages gracefully even under heavy use.
Consistent Cardioid Directionality
The 2015 incorporates a wide cardioid capsule with DPA’s signature flat off-axis response. This design offers high gain-before-feedback and makes managing bleed from nearby instruments easier, capturing off-axis sounds naturally and in a controlled manner.
Spacious, Wide Cardioid Pickup
With its broad cardioid pattern, the 2015 can be positioned closer to a drum kit than typical overhead microphones while still capturing a balanced sound across the entire kit. This proximity increases the signal strength from the drums and reduces bleed from the surrounding stage environment.
