The OD505 is Austrian Audio's flagship vocal microphone, blending dynamic durability with condenser-quality tone via Active Dynamic Technology. Designed primarily for live performance, it excels equally in studio and broadcast applications.
The proprietary ODC50-SC capsule sits in a near free-floating mount, eliminating internal reflections for natural, resonance-free sound. A passive rear capsule cancels handling noise via phase-reversal, while a selectable high-pass filter guards against stage vibration — making the OD505 exceptionally resistant to unwanted interference.
Requiring 48V phantom power, the active capsule delivers 4.4 mV/Pa sensitivity with consistent performance across varying preamp impedances and cable lengths. The tight supercardioid pattern maximises gain before feedback and rejects off-axis bleed from nearby instruments.
A built-in 3D Pop Noise Diffuser controls plosives without an external pop shield. Proudly manufactured and tested in Vienna to exacting quality standards.
