B-Stock Allen & Heath DX168 Portable 96kHz Audio Expander.
The Allen & Heath DX168 is a rugged, portable 96kHz I/O expander designed to add remote inputs and outputs to dLive, Avantis, SQ mixers, or the AHM-64 audio matrix processor.
Housed in a tough, stage-ready enclosure with protective rubber bumpers, the DX168 features 16 high-quality microphone preamps with individual Phantom Power status LEDs and 8 balanced XLR line outputs. Ideal for both permanent installs and touring setups, its durable build and lightweight design (just 4.8kg) make it a practical choice for rental companies, education, houses of worship, and more. A robust carry handle enhances portability, and an optional 4U rackmount kit is available for 19” rack installations.
Easy Connectivity
The DX168 connects via a single Cat5e cable using locking EtherCon connectors, ensuring reliable communication with your system. A second EtherCon port allows for daisy-chaining to another DX168 or provides a redundant link for added security in critical applications.

With dLive:
- Connect up to 6 DX168 units directly (4 via MixRack, 2 via Surface) for a total of 96 remote inputs and 48 remote outputs.
- Expand further using a DX Link card or DX Hub.

With Avantis:
- Connect up to 2 units directly via the SLink port.
- Scale up to 16 DX168s using DX Link cards and/or DX Hubs.

With SQ:
- Chain up to 2 DX168 units to the SLink port.
- Add more via the optional SLink card or DX Hub (supports up to 8 DX168 units), patchable to the SQ’s 48 input channels.

With AHM-64:
- Directly connect 2 units to the SLink port.
- Expand to 8 DX168s with a DX Hub and freely assign up to 64 input channels.
