The BirdDog Flex 4K Out is the world’s smallest 4K NDI® decoder, delivering powerful features in a compact form factor. Designed for professional production environments, it offers BirdDog’s signature one-cable workflow – carrying video, audio, tally, PTZ control, intercom, and power all over a single Ethernet connection.
Ultra-Compact Design
With a footprint only slightly larger than a credit card, the Flex 4K series is the smallest 4K NDI® solution available, making it ideal for space-conscious setups without sacrificing performance.
Efficient Cooling
Engineered with advanced thermal design and whisper-quiet fans, the Flex 4K Out remains cool and reliable, even under demanding conditions or in direct sunlight.
All-in-One Connectivity
Using just one Ethernet cable, the Flex 4K Out delivers video, audio, tally, PTZ control, and intercom, while also providing up to 15W of additional DC power to run external devices such as monitors, recorders, or cameras.
Integrated Halo Tally System
The built-in Halo Tally system requires no setup and is instantly compatible with any NDI-enabled software production platform. Its design ensures both camera operators and on-air talent can easily see tally indicators.
Adaptive Bitrate Performance
Full NDI® uses a variable bitrate codec, with typical usage around 140Mbps for HD or 300Mbps for 4K. The Flex 4K Out offers smooth, reliable performance with the capacity to handle multiple streams efficiently.
Perfect PTZ Companion
When paired with non-NDI PTZ cameras, the Flex 4K Out can handle HDMI encoding to Full NDI® and provide PTZ passthrough control – an ideal upgrade path for integrating PTZ functionality into NDI workflows.
Dante® Audio Integration
The 3.5mm audio jack supports Dante® input and output, allowing users to either extract Dante from the NDI® stream or embed Dante audio into it.
Environmentally Conscious Packaging
BirdDog uses 100% recyclable packaging with soy-based inks and eliminates printed manuals in favour of downloadable versions, reducing environmental impact.
Flexible Mounting Options
An optional camera mount with a 1/4"-20 thread enables versatile installation using ball heads or magic arms for customised rig setups.
RESTful API Support
With BirdDog’s free RESTful API, users can create custom automation for all BirdDog hardware, including cameras, enhancing workflow integration and control.
