HALO-C is an evolution of the original HALO system, retaining the exceptional sonic performance for which the HALO range is renowned. HALO-C delivers a genuinely compact solution—yet with continuous sound pressure level capability exceeding 120dB, it provides an ideal choice for small-to-medium theatres, houses of worship, conference and corporate AV installations, and small-to-medium scale live sound reinforcement.
HALO-C incorporates a 197mm (7.8") AMT high-frequency driver mounted on a bespoke waveguide, coupled via EM Acoustics' signature passive crossover to a high-power neodymium 8" (203mm) LF driver. Precise driver placement, combined with the crossover topology and waveguide design, extends horizontal coverage pattern control below 1kHz. The true plane-wave output of the AMT driver and waveguide combination yields precise, well-controlled vertical dispersion, enabling seamless array integration and minimising destructive interference between adjacent elements.
The HALO Compact enclosure is constructed from premium multi-laminate birch plywood, measuring only 492mm (19.4") wide and weighing just 17kg (37.4lbs). Intelligent bracing design minimises panel flexure, reducing unwanted resonance whilst maintaining low enclosure weight. The rigging hardware design provides flexibility for both flown and ground-stacked configurations, allowing arrays of up to 24 elements to be assembled whilst maintaining a 10:1 safety margin.
A perforated stainless steel grille backed with acoustically transparent fabric completes the enclosure with a sleek yet sophisticated appearance. Twin NL4 connections are provided on the rear panel for input and enclosure linking. The enclosure features an impact and weather-resistant black or white textured polyurethane finish as standard, with RAL colour matching and enhanced weather-protected outdoor options available.
HALO-C requires a single amplifier channel, and external DSP is recommended for system protection via high-pass filters and limiters—as such, use with EM Acoustics' range of Advanced System Amplifiers is recommended. Alternative DSP-enabled amplifiers or conventional amplifiers with external DSP can also be employed. Appropriate DSP settings are available on the EM Acoustics website. HALO-C requires a single amplifier channel capable of delivering 500-800W RMS into an 8-ohm load.
