12G-SDI & HDMI 2.0 Connectivity
All SDI connections are 12G-SDI, ensuring maximum performance and flexibility — including all four SDI ports on the 4K Quad model. HDMI 2.0 connections ensure full compatibility with your professional video sources and displays.
SFP+ for 10GbE and Long-Range Connectivity
The SFP+ port supports standard Ethernet protocols from 1GbE to 10GbE and allows for short-, medium-, or long-range fibre connections, giving you the flexibility to build your system exactly how you need it.
Effortless NDI® Tally System
A fully integrated Tally system works straight out of the box with zero configuration. A large, built-in Tally light makes it easy for on-air talent to see which camera is live, while optional on-screen Tally borders can be enabled on loop outputs.
Built-In Cross Converter
Each 4K model features a built-in cross converter, allowing SDI inputs to loop out via HDMI 2.0, and HDMI inputs to loop out via SDI — providing unmatched flexibility in signal routing.
PTZ Camera Control
Using the optional USB-to-Ethernet adapter, you can easily control any PTZ camera supporting NDI®, NDI|HX, or Visca over IP protocols.
RESTful API for Custom Automation
Download BirdDog’s free RESTful API and create custom automations across your BirdDog devices, including cameras and encoders/decoders.
Adaptive Bitrate Control
Full NDI® is a variable bitrate codec. Typically, BirdDog recommends around 140Mbps per HD stream (up to six streams per 1GbE connection) or 300Mbps per 4K stream (up to three streams per 1GbE connection) for optimal performance.
With BirdDog’s intuitive bitrate control, you can fine-tune settings to suit your workflow and network bandwidth. Adjust HD streams between 80–180Mbps and 4K streams between 60–360Mbps with ease.
