Ex-Hire Formula Sound ZMR-243 Zone Mixer.
Designed for permanent installation in bars, clubs, and other entertainment venues, this unit offers two balanced microphone inputs alongside four stereo line inputs, all of which can be routed and mixed to three stereo outputs. It includes an interface for fire-alarm systems, enabling automatic priority switching during an emergency. Volume control of the four music sources is possible via optional remote volume control plates using VCA technology.
The rear panel features balanced XLR microphone connectors with adjustable gain, high-frequency (HF), and low-frequency (LF) cut presets. It also provides 15V phantom power internally if required. Music inputs consist of four pairs of phono connectors, each with screwdriver-adjustable gain. The three-pole screw-terminal outputs are balanced or can be linked for unbalanced operation, with adjacent HF and LF EQ controls, also screwdriver adjustable. Each output can be configured for mono use to support split feeds across zones. Volume for outputs sharing the same source can be remotely controlled, with zone source selection configurable internally.
Each zone offers front panel level controls for Mic 1, Mic 2, and music inputs, along with a single push-button for solid-state switching between music sources or remote panel selection. Each zone has an LED status indicator. The panel can be easily locked to prevent accidental changes via a front panel button sequence. Line input 1 can be set to act as a priority input when it detects a signal, such as from background music; an LED indicates this function without affecting microphone operation. Mic 1 and Mic 2 inputs can be remotely switched to aid paging, with front panel LEDs indicating their status. A voice override function can be enabled on any or all outputs, allowing a microphone to reduce (dim) the music volume for announcements. The fire alarm interface requires an isolated contact closure to mute or dim all music sources across all outputs.
