The Neumann KM 184 is a high-quality pencil condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, finished in nickel. As the successor to the legendary KM 84, which has been widely used since the 1970s, the KM 184 continues to deliver exceptional performance for professional recording. Its slim design and outstanding transmission characteristics make it ideal for a wide range of applications, particularly in radio, television, and studio recording.
With an ultra-low self-noise of just 16 dB(A), the KM 184 captures every detail with clarity, making it perfect for acoustic instruments such as guitar and orchestral performances. It features a subtle high-frequency lift around 9 kHz, providing a fresh and lively tonal balance compared to the flatter response of the KM 84.
